REPORT AN ABSENCE

STEP 1 : NOTIFY US BY 9:00AM

STEP 2: INCLUDE KEY DETAILS

When reporting, please provide:
1. Student’s full name
2. Year Group
3. Reason for absence

IF YOUR CHILD IS RUNNING LATE...

No Need to Panic

After the registration period, students are automatically marked as late in the register.

What Parents Should Do
Just send us an email at:
admin@readacademy.co.uk
on the day of to explain the reason of lateness.
That’s it—quick and simple!

We will be in touch with you to discuss the matter should we need to.
Phoning the safeguarding line in a panic will not change the register!

The safeguarding line is for emergencies only.

RUNNING LATE TO COLLECT YOUR CHILD?

No Need to Panic

Arrange Alternate Pickup (if you can)
The school office will contact you after your child’s dismissal time has passed if your child has not been picked up from the school yet.
We will expect you to tell us when you expect to arrive / ETA

Staff will supervise your child until you or your authorised contact arrives.

Fees may apply for collection after scheduled times for reasons that are not valid.

REQUESTING LEAVE DURING TERM TIME

Taking your child out of school during term time can disrupt their learning. Please submit all leave requests inwriting to the school office admin@readacademy.co.uk

Leave can only be granted by the head teacher in exceptional circumstances.

Unauthorised absences may result in a penalty notice.
Work with us to support your child’s attendance and progress.

COLLECTING CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL

For your child’s safety, only an authorised person can collect them. The person collecting your child must be16 years or older.
If an older sibling at the school will collect your child, this must be confirmed inwriting by a parent/carer.

If someone different will collect your child, you must inform the school in advance.
Staff will not release children to unauthorised persons.

Your child’s safety is our priority.
